Like many places, winter in Tennessee is unpredictable. Wait 10 minutes and the season may change. Last week’s freezing (and below freezing) temps and then high 60s. It was 32 when I woke up this morning. Yesterday’s high was in the 70’s, and this morning we have snow flurries. It’s the perfect weather for my shawls and cowls. Easy to wear and easy to remove.
Let’s talk dogs and knitting. I’m currently working on a test knit for Corrina Ferguson of CraftStar. It’s a cowl in DK called the Colonel Cowl and it’s so pretty and fun. I’m also anxiously awaiting the start of Lisa Ross’ (Paper Daisy) new MKAL, also a cowl using 5 minis. I have the perfect set just waiting for March 1st to roll in.
With Jack’s retirement, I’ve turned my attention to Speck. Spring is in the air and I’ve started thinking about FastCAT and looking for some local trials. We’ve also started our formal agility training. His biggest problem seems to be distractions. Sniffing everything, our start line is iffy, and he likes to blind cross (unintentionally) behind me. He’s so dang small that I turn to connect with him and he’s GONE. A very sneaky boy. He is, however, engaged while in class and I’m pleased with our progress. If you live in the Nashville area, I highly recommend Elizabeth Evans and Jump for Joy Agility. Elizabeth is very kind, very knowledgeable, and adjusts her training to meet the needs of individual dogs and trainers. I love the line from her teaching philosophy: “Imperfect people are welcome here” and I embrace my imperfection.

I guess if I talk enough about dogs and knitting, I don’t have to dwell on the Nashville Predators’ dismal season. Lost again last night, 0-5 versus the Bruins. There were SO many Bruin fans in the arena that they were louder than us. As a season ticket holder, I am more than frustrated with the players and their season. It’s so bad that my husband asked if I was renewing my tickets…duh, I already renewed for 3 more years (shhh, we won’t tell him that). He doesn’t go to the games, it’s my passion and my outlet.
