You Are Enough

I have adopted this phrase as my personal mantra. Whether it’s work, or knitting, or agility; I am trying to remember that I AM ENOUGH. Someone reminded me recently that ‘comparison is the thief of joy’ and wow, did this resonate with me.

We had a great time at the AKC Agility trial this weekend. Jack came home with 2 Q’s in Master Standard including a 4th place ribbon. It’s the first time we’ve placed in a Masters run. The non-qualifying scores were entirely my fault and, fortunately, it’s easier to fix my behavior than it is to fix his. I’m looking forward to running again over Memorial Day weekend.

We’ve started doing some distance and foundational work with a local trainer. Speck is making progress. He is SO smart but also afraid of everything. Jack just wants to please so he’s progressing nicely but distance continues to be an issue. Again, this is almost more about training me than training the dogs.

In all things knitting, I’ve continued to work on my throw blanket (the perfect conference call project) and my Love Notes sweater. Love Notes is a bit slow going, it requires my attention on the lace yoke and I’m holding 2 strands (one mohair) so I only work on this in the evening if I’m not too tired.

Not my usual color choice, which is exactly why I bought it

I found a sweet little yarn shop while staying in Madison, Alabama last weekend. Hook a Frog Fun & Fiber has a great selection of Ancient Arts, Dream in Color and indie-dyed yarns that were new to me. I came home with a some replacement ChiaoGoo (CHOW-GOO) needles (since all my fixed needles seem to separate, or the cables snap, except these), a skein of Space Cadet in the spring 2021 colorway, Baroque, a ball of Berroco Millefiori Light and a NASA-themed project bag.
