Knitting like crazy

I have been knitting up a storm and finishing long overdue items…

I finished my Cordelle Shawl this week and now it awaits the finishing touches, blocking and trimming the ends. I probably won’t get to that until this weekend but I LOVE this shawl. It’s the perfect size, soft and warm. I can see more of these in my future.
I also finished a pair of sleeping socks for my husband. I started these LAST July on vacation but hated (hated!) working with US5 needles and worsted weight wool. It was really hard on my hands. Add to that, I lost the original patterns and had to improvise on the second sock, then I ran out of yarn for the cuff. Fortunately, in a fit a cleaning out my closet I ran across a remnant ball of yarn that’s a good approximation of color and weight. So I sat down last night and finished off that last cuff. Man, he’s got big feet!
I am still working on the diagonal lace sock in fall colors. The yarn is a flat from Cojoined Creations that I had in my stash. The sock has knit up much prettier than I thought it would. Although I liked the colors in the flat (which is obviously why I purchased it) the flat itself was pretty ugly. I really like working with yarn flats but I guess they just didn’t catch on. The last couple I bought were on deep discount at my local yarn shops as they were discontinuing them.
This weekend I will attend a class at Bliss Yarns on knitting socks two-at-a-time. Should be fun. Pictures to follow!
